Track what happens in social media every second

11 Feb

Need to convince someone in your sphere (like yourself perhaps?) about the benefits of social media?

Check out Gary Hayes’ live data counter, which gives you a snapshot of  social media activity every second. Amazing to watch this counter go.

After seeing how many new blog posts there are, how many videos get torpedoed into YouTube, how many new Facebook and Twitter members sign up…you might find it easier to make a case to your boss, your client, your co-workers.

Oh yes, and yourself.

I found this tracker on Lois Kelly’s bloghound.

While I didn’t need convincing (my problem is usually reminding myself that there is life outside of the web), this is insane. Very cool find!

As Lois Kelly suggests in her blog post, this would be a killer way to start a presentation to a client. We use stats as well in a power point format: 200,000,000 blogs, 65,000,000 YouTube vids etc. This is so much more dynamic huh? Thanks for the comment Mario.
