Woke up, got out of bed, pulled a wig across my head

This graphic new anti-smoking campaign by the Centre for Disease Control in the US is being hailed as an across-the-board success. It features real people, like Terri here, telling their tragic stories of disease and physical suffering resulting from their smoking habit.

Check it out.

Apparently, it’s working. During the campaign, call volume to 1-800-QUIT-NOW more than doubled to 365,000. Weekly website visits to smokefree.gov tripled compared with levels prior to the campaign. The CDC claims 417,000 unique visitors. Story here.

They also estimate 50,000 smokers will end their addiction as a result of the campaign.

Looks like the CDC is on to something. Good for Terri for having the guts to do this!
