Back-to-school is a minefield for advertisers … and parents

I can understand why parents, getting ready to see their teenagers off to university for the first time, would find these new T-shirts from Urban Outfitters a little disconcerting.

Hey, university kids are old enough to make their own decisions. They’re going to drink anyway, right. We’re not promoting it. We’re just saying.


The retailer joins a long and distinguished alumni of infamous back-to-school advertisers. Here are some recent classics.
